We Say Goodbye...

Our dearest son Frankie, we never ever expected to be writing this as Mummy and Daddy wanted you more than you will ever, ever know. From the moment the digital test Mummy took said "pregnant", you were our absolute world.

But now, we have to say goodbye.

Mummy felt so well being pregnant with you, and was only a little bit tired and not sick at all.  Seeing your tiny body and face on the screen during your scans were the most magical moments in our world for us.  We couldn't get over how such a tiny perfect little human being could be growing inside Mummy.

But now, we have to say goodbye.

We so eagerly awaited your arrival, we got your room ready with plenty of time, and Mommy even packed her hospital case ready for your arrival in January. She never imagined that she would have to use it so soon.  Even when you were diagnosed with a cleft lip and palate, it only made us love you even more.

But now, we have to say goodbye.

Mommy will miss Daddy singing Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" to you, and Mommy counteracting it by singing you Status Quo's "Whatever You Want".  Mommy hoped you would be into rock and heavy metal music like her and your Nanny, and not that rubbish pop music your Daddy sang to you.

But now, we have to say goodbye.

Mommy will miss feeling you move around inside her, and watching you kick when she was in the bath.

But for now, we have to say goodbye.

But although today we have to say goodbye, you, your legacy and memory will never be forgotten and will live on and on.  Your Mummy and Daddy will do all they can do to keep your memory alive.  You have already done so much Frankie, you are a very special boy who has already touched us all through your journey and short life and we all love you and cherish you in our hearts.

Through you and your memory Mommy and Daddy will continue the work we have done to raise awareness of cleft lip and palate and stillbirth, and Mommy will continue to write your blog which is now called "Frankie's Legacy".  Mummy and Daddy love you more than words could ever say and we will hold you in our hearts forever.  Sleep tight with the angels in heaven sweet angel, and fly free.

We will never stop missing you, and loving you.

Goodbye our special boy….
